1. Tadoba Zone

One of the largest zones of Tadoba, it has some of the famous tiger spotting areas.

The core zone has a lot of scenic beauty and ample amount of water bodies. One of the most prominent water bodies are Tadoba lake and Jamni Lake. This zone offers plenty of opportunities for accommodation and resting facilities. The famous Andhari river flows through this area.

Tadoba Buffer Zone can be accessed through Navegaon Ramdegi & Nimdela gates.

2. Moharli Zone

Considered one of the best safari zones in Tadoba, Moharli Zone is divided into core and buffer zones.

Moharli Core Zone can be accessed through Moharli gate and Khutwanda gate.

This core zone is known for its scenic beauty and high density of flora and fauna. The famous Telia Lake is inside this zone and is a lair for all the big cats and other mammals. Telia lake is now dominated by  tigress Collarwali who kicked tigress Sonam out of her territory. The area was earlier dominated by tigress Sonam & her cubs. This area has quick access from the Moharli gate via the old metal road inside the park.

3. Kolara Zone

The zone is known for its spectacular scenic landscapes. One of the best things this zone has to offer is high tiger density which offer good sighting opportunities.

Kolara Core Zone can be accessed through Kolara gate.

Kolara Buffer Zone can be accessed through Kolara Chauradeo, Belara, Shirkheda, Madnapur, Alizanza and Palasgaon gates.

Both the core and buffer zone are equally beautiful and provide good tiger sighting opportunities. The dominant vegetation of bamboo trees is the show stealer. A must visit for all the safari lovers.

4. Pangdi-Zari Zone

This zone is also known for its good tiger sighting opportunities and is a popular choice among tourists. These zones serve as the entry points into the rich land of Tadoba.

Pangdi-Zari Core Zone can be accessed through Pangdi and Zari gate.

Pangdi-Zari Buffer Zone can be accessed through Pangdi Aswal Chuha, Keslaghat, Zari Peth and Somnath gates.

It should be kept in mind that these gates maybe very far from each other and it is advisable to book safaris at gates which are closer to where you are staying. Below are the gates that can be booked according to the zone that is closest to where you are staying.

MORE ABOUT TADOBA NATIONAL PARK

This tiger reserve is an amalgamation of Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary came into existence in 1955 and 1986 respectively. However, both the parks were conjoined in 1995, thus ended up being called Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve.

The National Park also has over 250 species of birds.

Tadoba boasts of having ample amount of lakes,18 to be exact, but there are three significant lakes to look out for. Tadoba Lake, Jamani Lake and Telia Lake are the major hotspots of the national park. The lakes are a common resting point for the wildlife and our beloved tigers.
